Tecno Boom J8 is one of the most exciting new smartphones released last year, and many owners of smartphones from other brands are considering an upgrade to the J8. Tecno J8 is the successor of the Tecno Boom J7, but how exactly the new phone can be compared to its predecessor? Affordable Tecno J8 buy from Jiji – click here >>>.
Design and display
Tecno Boom J7 is a 5.0-inch smartphone that comes in three colors (black, white and silver) and has a plastic body. The IPS capacitive touchscreen has a 720×1280 resolution, which is pretty average for the J7’s price range.
Tecno Boom J8 has a 5.5-inch screen, but the rest of the screen features, including the resolution and the touch screen type, are similar to J7’s. The appearance of the smartphone, however, is elevated compared to the Tecno J7: there are metal trimmings in addition to the plastic body, although the choice of colors remains somewhat limited: white, grey and gold.
Performance and OS
Unsurprisingly, both the Tecno Boom J7 & J8 run Android OS, but don’t expect both devices to have the latest version of Android on board – there is Android 4.4 and Android 5.1 respectively, so you’ll need to upgrade manually.
As for the performance, this is where the most significant differences between the two phones are. The Tecno J7 is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-core CPU and has 1GB of RAM. Internal storage is 16GB, which you can expand with a microSD card up to 32GB. The Tecno J8 is noticeably better equipped: in addition to the same 1.3 GHz Quad-core CPU, you’ll also find 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to 128GB with the help of a microSD card.
Camera and battery
The Tecno Boom J7 doesn’t have the most exciting camera characteristics: there is an 8MP primary camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera with no flash. The battery is a non-removable one with a 2020 mAh capacity. There is also a fast charge feature and a low power mode for emergency situations.
The Tecno Boom J8 is a whole year newer than the J7 and, naturally, has better camera features. The 13MP primary camera with LED flash and the 5MP front camera, which is also flash-equipped, provide a much better picture quality. The battery also went through an upgrade and now has a 3000mAh capacity with a fast charging technology.
While the Tecno Boom J7 & J8 have their share of similarities, they are still very different devices. The J7 may a better choice for buyers on a budget, but if you’re not looking for the cheapest option, the J8 will be a better fit for you thanks to its advanced specs and refined look.
